猫の絵を描くようになったのは、猫に救われたという猫グッズのお店の女性主人からの注文からでした。彼女いわく「あまりリアルな猫は、嫌です。亡くなった猫を思いだすから、少し抽象的な猫をお願いします。」
当時、私の家の駐車場に止めてある車のボンネットに毎日黒い猫と白い猫が寝泊まりしていました。なにかのご縁と思い引き受けてしまいました。それから一月試行錯誤の上に出来上がったのが、この作品でした。黒猫のS字カーブが綺麗です。
